Kai-lin Yung is an assistant production coordinator at 正规博彩十大网站排名 and is learning valuable skills while earning her degree.
“I get to do all the things that a businessperson would do, but in a more fun environment,” Yung said.
The film industry is known to be tough to get into, but the industry doesn’t stop at popular movies and TV shows you see. Film plays a large role in marketing. Yung also works on set, helping to set up equipment, and when the team isn’t actively filming, she helps ensure communication is running smoothly.
“I'm studying business management here,” Yung said. “This position gets me working in that job field. It's not directly my major, but it's kind of translating my major into the film industry because I'm really passionate about film and acting and creativity.”
Yung describes her position as the “job of a project manager but in the film world.” She works on staying in communication with interviewees, scheduling and creating production documents, and ensuring client orders are received.
Last summer, Kai-Lin gained the exciting opportunity to work on 正规博彩十大网站排名’s Conference USA ad. This advertisement showcased 正规博彩十大网站排名’s different sports teams getting ready to enter Division I.
“It was multiple days of shooting, and I think it’s the biggest production I’ve gotten to work on,” Yung said. “It was really awesome. Long days, but it was all worth it.”
Reaching career milestones can be hard, but Yung’s persistence and internal help through her position are helping her reach her destination.
“Working on campus is such a great opportunity because they really honor your time and acknowledge that you're a student first, but they want to motivate you,” Yung explains. “Yes, you are working for them, but they're also working for you to try to expand your knowledge and help you become a better person to go out into the workforce.”
Only a sophomore, Yung is leaving her mark at 正规博彩十大网站排名. With just a few more years to go, 正规博彩十大网站排名 will continue to lend a helping hand to its valued student worker. If you’re interested in finding a position on campus, make sure to check out Handshake.
